Git Hayetsk Dancers will featured in First Annual UAS Connie Boochever Endowment for the Arts Signature Event. This new UAS event, organized by Alaska Native Studies faculty Dr. Mique’l Dangeli, is in honor of the late Connie Boochever, a dynamic performer, director, patron, and advocate for the performing arts.  It is funded in part by the Dr. Alfred E. Widmark Alaska Native & Rural Center Support Endowment.

Dance Workshop: Friday March 24th from 6-8pm at the dance studio in UAS's Rec Center

The Git Hayetsk will host a dance workshop for people of all backgrounds, genders, ages, and abilities. They will guide participants through a series of simple movements that form the basis of a women’s honor song. Those who feel comfortable performing what they learned in the workshop will be included in an invitational dance during the Git Hayetsk’s performance at the Egan library the next day.

Git Hayetsk Performance and Q&A: Saturday March 25th from 6-8pm at the Egan Library

Since 1999, The Git Hayetsk have shared their songs and dances at ceremonial and public events in urban and rural communities through Canada, the US, and abroad including Austria, Malaysia, Germany, and Japan. This will be their first full-length performance here in Juneau! They will be performing from 6-7:30pm followed by a Q&A from 7:30-8pm. All are welcomed!
