The deadline is December 1
Juneau, Alaska
Date of Press Release: November 5, 2019
The Tidal Echoes 2020 editorial board will consider submissions from any current full-time resident of Southeast Alaska. A portion of the journal will be set aside for UAS students from all three campuses - Juneau, Sitka, and Ketchikan. The deadline is December 1.
Faculty advisor Emily Wall notes, “Southeast Alaska is rich with talent. Our communities support writers, storytellers, playwrights, photographers, basket weavers, carvers, and many other types of artists and writers. As a literary journal, Tidal Echoes aims to bring together all the voices and visions of Southeast Alaskan artists and writers.”
Tidal Echoes includes prose, poetry, and artwork. Entrants may submit up to three pieces of prose, including fiction, non-fiction, transcribed oral stories, memoir, or drama. Poetry of all types is accepted, with a limit of five poems per person. In addition to writing, artwork of all mediums is accepted digitally, with a limit of five per person. This allows the journal to include sculpture, painting, ceramics, photography and drawing.
The spring launch event for Tidal Echoes is scheduled for April 10 in the UAS Egan Lecture Hall. View complete submission guidelines. Please send questions about submissions to [email protected] or call (907) 796-6113.
