Use of Generative AI at UAS
Generative AI, often referred to as GenAI or just AI, is a type of assistive tool that enhances the ability to generate content. Common GenAI are Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, or ChatGPT. These tools can create documents, write emails, make images, and even create music.
UA accounts have access to both Gemini and Copilot as part of their existing Google and Microsoft accounts, respectively. Premium versions of these tools are also available to staff and faculty at departmental cost.
Please know that GenAI is not applicable in all cases. The protected status of all data should be considered. UA licenses should be considered before sharing data. Statewide provides guidance on sharing data.
